What Do the Cherry Blossoms Say

Photo taken by author

What do the cherry blossoms say?

Pink and pretty

Soft and sweet

I come up close

to feel their heat

I nuzzle my nose

in their inviting core

Like an open heart

I can’t help but adore

When I get close

 I close my eyes

I want to hear

The flower so wise

Unsure of what to expect

I jump back when the petals say

You’re so beautiful my dear

You are a queen

But that deep sadness and pain

makes your spirit very mean

Forgive yourself my child

Go forth in love

For the past has gone

Now be a dove

Be the light you were meant to

And the goodness shall return

It may be hard now

But this is the best lesson you’ll learn

Remember God loves you

More than you even know

It’s time to get going

You are the star of the show

As I listened to the blossoms

I shed a thousand tears

Everything I desired

Swallowed my fears

What do the cherry blossoms say?

They say this is my season

They say that my trials

Have left me

In great denial

My purpose and passion

Will never rest

I need to keep the faith

In order to become the best

What do the cherry blossoms say?

They tell me I must forgive

They tell me I am forgiven

For even in this darkness

the light is just beginning

The next time I feel lost and down

Or I feel like God can’t hear me

I know that all I have to do

Is find the cherry blossom tree
